Our Story
Music performed organically. Two guitars, four drums, and two vocals.
That’s the core of The Steve Hogie Band — three musicians who play with honesty, energy, and the kind of connection that comes from years of friendship. Their sound mixes acoustic guitars, warm harmonies, and steady rhythm. Every show is straightforward and genuine, with no extras — just three players making music together because they love it.
Meet the Band
Steve “Hogie” Hagopian
Some individuals are born with a natural curiosity and desire to learn new things. Steve Hogie’s creative outlets have always been music and cooking … and he excels at both.
When growing up in Rhode Island, his idols included the Beatles, America, Styx, Jim Croce, James Taylor, the Who and the Rolling Stones, among many others. Steve quickly mastered guitar and bass while also dabbling in piano -- and he wasted no time getting gigs, playing in clubs from the age of 15.
Steve was equally fascinated with cooking and attended the prestigious Johnson & Wales University in Providence. He applied what he learned to chef jobs at a number of Rhode Island restaurants while continuing to pursue music on his free nights. Over the years, Steve performed in numerous bands, including with his wife MaryAnne in the band Legacy. They bonded over music after meeting in local karaoke bars in and around the small town of Smithfield where they both lived.
When the couple relocated to Florida in 2005, Steve made the leap to becoming a full-time musician, usually doing solo gigs. In 2015, he formed the Steve Hogie Band. Today, the band has a standing Saturday night residency at the House of Blues in Disney Springs, while also playing other dates at Splitsville and Ron Jon’s (also at Disney Springs), Rock & Brews in Kissimmee, Swan Brewery in Lakeland, Rock ‘N Rev in Ocoee, the Villages and private parties. Their evolving set list reflects Steve’s early musical influences from the 1960s as well as a wide range of songs right through to the start of the 2000s.
In his spare time, Steve enjoys tinkering with electronics, writing songs, cooking and pampering his three “overlord” cats who rule the roost. When Steve can get away, he visits his mom, dad, sister and a brother who all still live in Rhode Island, and a younger brother who resides in Arizona. However, he rarely takes time off because he genuinely loves playing music with his Steve Hogie bandmates who make each gig fun.
Keith Wilkinson on guitar and vocals
Keith Wilkinson hails from Connecticut where, as a teenager, he developed a passion for the guitar while listening to Journey, Jimi Hendrix and Led Zeppelin. He started playing at age 8 and learned to sing from Richie Sambora on Bon Jovi records, finding the harmony vocals infinitely more interesting than the melody.
Keith’s first paid gig was at age 16, and he started gigging regularly at age 22. However, his main occupation was as a computer technician at Yale University. On the side, he performed with the bands Carnival Dogs and Fresh Wasco before moving to Orlando in 2008. He spent a couple of years looking for other musicians wanting to form a band before he met Steve Hogie through a Craigslist ad. Steve also had bad luck finding the right musicians, and he and Keith were both somewhat skeptical at first. They talked for an hour before opening their guitar cases, and they then played for a couple of hours, effortlessly, as if they had been longtime bandmates. They have been playing together ever since on stages throughout central Florida.
In his spare time, Keith loves camping in his 1990 Airstream Camper Van that he has maintained and enjoyed since 2014. His dog Jibboo enjoys these camping adventures as well.
Lucas Scarpelli on drums
Lucas Scarpelli has been balancing a career as a musician with being an independent contractor, remodeling homes and doing repair/carpentry work.
Born and raised in Charleston, West Virginia, Lucas inherited the music gene from his father, who played several instruments and wrote original music for orchestras, commercials, theater musicals and rock operas. Lucas played drums for a Beatles tribute band that his father founded.
Lucas started drumming at age 12 and shortly after played drums in the pit for local theater productions with his father. In 1997, Lucas started a ska/punk band called 69 Fingers in Charleston which relocated with him to Maitland, Florida in 2004. They continue to gig in the Orlando area.
Lucas enjoys listening to a range of musical styles: from spa, punk and chiptune to indie rock, folk, bluegrass and reggae. As a drummer, he adapts to many genres and, in the Steve Hogie Band since 2016, he plays classic rock. Off stage, Lucas is a husband, father of two, and owner of several pets: a dog, cat, two budgies (aka parakeets), two chickens and an axolotl (a species of salamander).
